*LAKE HOUSE*

hi, everyone.
*
all my loves in my immediate circle
have off tomorrow,
so
we're leaving this morning
to
my
Uncle Matt & Aunt Debbie's
LAKE HOUSE
for the day.
*
i'm excited since
it means
BBQ,
biking,
fresh air,
rowing on the lake,
fishing,
and
R-E-L-A-X-I-N-G!
*
*yay*
*
here are scenes from
Labor Day Weekend 2008,
the first time
the *boyf*
was up there:
[uncle & boyf, bonding over fishing things]
**
**
[the boyf, out first thing in the morning, fishing]
**
**
[he caught a little guy. don't worry, he threw him back]
**
**
[i caught a little guy, too, & as per my style, threw him back, & waved goodbye]
**
**
[on my uncle's motor boat, watchin' the Summer sun go down]
**
**

[the boyf, at night, binoculizing the millions of stars]

******************************************************

i imagine today's going to be filled with many of the same activities.

*YAY* for Memorial Day, the unofficial kick-off of Summer.

HOOTERS & *friendship*

HOOTERS:
scantily clad chicks
serving B-rated food.

easy concept to comprehend.
*
for what it is,
the girls & I had a good time.
PLUS...
...friggin' place is - literally - two steps
from the movie theater.
TWO STEPS!
PLUS...
it was a nice day,
and
we got to eat outside.so HOOTERS, easy.
*
now, friendship,
on the other hand,
THAT
was a major theme of the night
that I was just baffled about.
*
[below is me, Jenn, & Elisa]
there
was drama
with our friend,
Eva.
*
let's just leave it at that.
*
i started typing
'the story'
in this post,
but then thought,
'for what?'
*
it's just going to sound like me whining.
i already vented to
my Bitt
my boyf
my mom
Elisa
the cat
and on top of that,
I have chores to do today ---
--- chores that i must do or
my mother will kill me.
*
bottom line:
i am a damn good friend.
the best, even.
i am not wrong
for giving 100% of myself
to every friendship I've ever been in,
and expecting 100% back.
*
i've watched those
Sex&theCity girls
for years,
[the movie was quite entertaining...a lot of big laughs,
even with the Eva-drama going on]
and I know
i'm in for that kind of friendship,
someday, somewhere.
*
my sister & I already have it,
but
I know there are girlfriends out there
who will come into my life
and
be able to effortlessly share
what my sister & I have...
...and
we'll form this super-troop of
support,
and understanding,
and trust, and laughs,
and goofiness,
enough to rival
any bullshit
this world has to throw at one of us.
*
i'll just be adding to my wolfpack.
*
*
*
*
*
in the meantime,
most immediately,
I needed to get out my final feelings to Eva,
and decided to do it HERE.
[why not?]
******************************************************************************
[below, Eva & I, circa 2008]

Eva--
Thank you for all the good you've brought into my life.
You were a friend to me in times when I've really needed you to be.
I'm grateful for how kind your family has always treated me, and I think in the
course of my life, I will miss you, and them, and only remember happiness.
I thought inviting you back into my life this time around would be different, but last night you proved me wrong.
The past few years of our friendship have made me see that we really
can't be friends the way I thought we could.
It makes me sad, but we've grown into
two totally different people.
I wish you nothing but all the love in life, and blessings upon blessings.
You'll always have a place in my heart; goodbye.
*******************************************************************************
that felt better.
kind of sad,
but better.
*
*
thanks for being here, reader.
*
*
{thinking}
*
*
{wiping the *single tear*}
*
*
{reflecting}
*
*
*
*
*
oh yeah...
*
*
*
*
*
...and by the way...
*
*
*
*
*

i rode a mechanical bull last night.

*carrie*miranda*charlotte*samantha*

it's time. today has come.
i gots me a ticket to a show tonight.
i think you know which one.
*
the plan:
Hooters
for
wings
&
drink,
then
movie right next door.
*
the people:
me
Eva
&
Jenn
*
*yay*
*
a night with the girls,
watchin'
'the girls'
is
just
what
the
doctor
ordered.
*
****
*
****
*
****
*
this was them
looking oh-so-fabulous
at the NYC premiere Monday night:
*
...and...i'm sorry,
but
I just gotta say
of all the
mindless,
pointless,
wanting-to-hear-their-own-voice
bashing
of
the show,
the movie,
all of it,
i think the most pointless of all is
the one i hear of,
'oh, they're too old. they should stop already.'
TOO FUCKIN' OLD??!!
That makes it
ten times more fun,
in my opinion.
************************************************
here's two clips
from
this girl's
favorite episode
--and one of mine, too--
that she reminded me was brilliant
yesterday
with this fabulous post about it:

*
...just a little reminiscing about what makes

Sex and the City

so great...

*

*

...and why my plans for tonight have got my soul singing a tune.

oh, what a happy day...

Wednesday, May 27th, 2009
* *
*
*the day I met my bike*
we've been on some wild adventures together.
thanks, bike, for being so awesome...
* *
*
*
*
*
*
*
...and for makin' my legs a little less 'Miss Piggy'...

...even though they still are.

love you, bike

makeover your mood with a *manicure*

...a pinker than pink, sparkly one,
to be exact.
my nails
[on fingers AND toes]
were crying
...begging!...
for help.
**
**
today's
supposed to be
90+ degrees
[**tee hee hee**]
*yay*
*
i've been subbing all week,
and
open-toe shoes
are a MUST,
and
I didn't want to scare any of the children.
i gave myself a manicure in my last night's 'me-time.'
no sister around.
no boyf.
just me
and
and then
on dancing with the stars.
she was so super fantastic.
[when her final dance shows up on YouTube,
i'll be postin' it.]

that's all, butterballs!

**

**

Happy [*hot & humid*] Wednesday!

**

P.S. - The backdrop of the above pics was created by my Victoria Secret pajamas!

Gotta love 'em!

LGRaB Summer Games - 1st entry - meet *Leeza*

an easy breezy
bike ride
with the *boyf*
made up
my sunday afternoon.
**
**

[the black & white effect with the shadowy
border looked beautiful on some of the pics.]
**
**

i love this pic.
reminds me that we need helmets, though.
this is us riding in my queens neighborhood,
before heading east to long island.
**
**

bright yellow LIVESTRONG.
**
**

raising my seat higher.
*
legs should be fully extended
with a pointed toe, right??
**
**

arrived to
in Garden City.
*
in the pic above,
we had to get off our bikes
& walk around the Veterans Memorial.
**
**
**
Now...
as you know,
[& if you didn't, now you do...]
in the first category, Social Cycling,
one of the bulleted "challenges' was to
say 'hi' to a cyclist at a red light.

well,
I think I might have done one better.
*
while at the Veterans Memorial,
the *boyf* goes,
"Baby, don't you need to say 'hi' to another biker?"
I respond,
"Yes."
Then Tomas says,
"Well, why don't you say 'hi' to her?"
*
I turn around and see the oldest woman in miles,
with a pretty awesome bike:
nice, wide seat,
cute basket,
bike-bell
{briiiiiing briiiiiiiing}
*
after Tomas & I
discussed game play of how we would approach her,
I walked up and opened with,

"Excuse me, we were just admiring your bike. Do you think I could take a picture with you? I want to be just like you in a couple of years."

Haa haa...I thought she'd like that.

turns out we had stopped to talk to

'The Long Island Bike Woman'.

yeah, according to her, she's famous. i'm sure she's been biking all her life, but told us she got really into biking fourteen years ago, after her husband died. she says almost every county on Long Island knows her by name: Leeza.

[it might be spelled 'Lisa', but with her thick, heavy German accent, she pronounced it 'Leeza' and so that's how I'm spellin' it. That's how I like it. She was fabulous.]

i wish these videos were longer & you really got to hear her speak.

we talked for a good 15 minutes about her bike, picking out a bike, how her children and grandchildren tell her she needs a helmet.

she was so sharp, so on-point, and man WAS SHE OLD, but VIBRANT.

Tomas compared her face to that of The Fantastic Four's the Thing. [Not to her face, though - good gosh, no! Haa haa! He related that gem just to me.] She was really wrinkly, but so fascinating and lovely and uh! I just loved her. She was a living testament to biking = long life and longevity. It was amazing.

I'm already so incredibly appreciative to the LGRaB Summer Games for giving me an experience I never would have had otherwise, if I hadn't been on a scavenger hunt for a cyclist to say 'hi' to.

Now...

The Long Island Bike Lady is going to be on the lookout for us this summer, and we'll be on the lookout for Leeza.

I couldn't be more excited.

**

**

**

our bike adventure continued deeper into the park to an unexpected, outdoor art fair.

**

**

i think you know what little miss this reminded me of.

**

**

the day was turning out to be such a blast.

can you tell i was enjoying it? Bwaaahaaa.

**

**

mid-ride snack: hot dog & mini pringles pack.

bikes take a break, too.
**

**

happy girl on her bike. love.
**
**
this is probably my favorite pic.
i'm amongst my people: five year olds,
having just as much fun as them.
*
i'm not sure if the boy in the pic above is
laughing with me, or at me.
*
good times.
**
**

the *boyf* is showing off that he can ride for an extended period of time with no hands [something I've yet to master]...we're almost home in this pic, and he was going to grill when we got there.

to say the least, he was a giddy giddy gumdrop.

**

**

i hope this post has motivated you get outside at some point today, because outside really is fun. c'mon...it is.

**

Happy Tuesday, tater tots!

Monday, May 24, 2010

oh, weekend, why are you so fleeting??

hi, cats!

oh, my weekend was looooovely.

**

there was much needed rest,

not a single thought wasted on what homework to do for bulls**t college sham courses,

more rest in the form of early nights and naps and naps galore,

saturday morning jogging,

watching the *boyf* play softball,

a super-awesome bike adventure to a long island park

-- where I was able to check off my first completed challenge for the LGRaB Summer Games, Round 1 --

[this will be blogged about ASAP, once the pictures are uploaded and looking blog-post worthy]

more softball glimpsing,

quick food-shopping stop,

grilling & beer,

followed by shower, then dessert,

then a little scrapping in my planner while the boyf played The Sims,

goodnight kisses, and passing out underneath my double comforters.

**

**

lovely.

**

**

as much as i can blog of it will be blogged soon.

in the meantime, here's a sneak peek:

yes, I am singing Queen's Bicycle Race

oh, goodness.

**

**

Happy Monday & start of your week, kitties...

...may it fly by...

...zoooom zoom zoom...

couldn't have
been
happier
last night.

**
enjoy
your
satURday,
all.

hitting the pavement

i've been
*running*
on our
recently-discovered
trail.
**
**
**how ya like my
new
Adidas
jogging hat??
**
**
**

run shadow.

**

**

I ran like Peter Pan yesterday, and I plan to run like a son-of-a-gun today because...

...gorgeous weather.

Are you going to get outside today??

*things we forget*

yesterday,
i realized that
exists.
it consists of a simple concept:
guy creates message on a post-it,
does a little doodle,
& sticks them around Singapore.
i like them.
*
i've already printed some
and
made them into stickers
with my
sticker-maker machine.

*yay*
for remembering
thingsweforget.
**
**
**

P.S. -one more week.

*this evening's dessert*

clearly,
today was
the day of *carbs*
for dessert:
&
decaf,
organic,
cranberry green tea
[in my favie tea mug]
sweets & cakes & icing,
oh my.
[always been my weakness]
when a sweet is this sweet?
c'mon...gotta eat.

*this morning's breakfast*

didn't know what to blog about today
until
I took a bite of my breakfast this morning.
**
the *boyf*'s mom
called me up Monday,
kinda ticked off that i couldn't
go over and pick up
the ensaymadas she
especially got for me.
**
well,
i went over last night,
and she tupperwared them,
bagged 'em,
and had them travel to my kitchen,
and eventually
[and inevitably]
this morning,
into
my
mouth.
**
mmmmm...
not the
*healthiest*
of breakfasts,
but
oh-so-yummy-and-satisfying
with my morning coffee.
**

ensaymadas are blogged about here and here.

**

**

hAppy wEdnEsdAy, parakeets!!
