we're both having bad days. my *bitt* & me, that is.

26 Things Before I'm 27 // inspired by *miss*elsiecake* herself

some blogs i visit are just oh, so good.
***
they always give me something positive
and inspirational to walk away from my laptop with.
***
well,
Elsie's blog: A Beautiful Mess
does that for me on a regular basis.
***
like me, Elsie has a *November* birthday.
she posted on Monday
about her
above left is her list. above right is her #25: Pink Hair for a little while.
***
i loved this idea to the MAX.
[the list, i mean. i could never pull off the pink hair]
***
since I turned 26 only a
mere eight days ago,
I took time out yesterday
to make my own list:
26 Things Before I'm 27
[i'm not as highly ambitious as elsie.
notice my #13: Paint (at least) 10 pictures as opposed to her #27: 100 Paintings...haa haa!]
***
thanks to *elsie*.

#6: take a BLOGGiNG class, is actually happening today...in NYC...@ The Learning Annex. haa haa! we'll see how that goes.

***

okay!

have a nice Wednes, pumpkin-breads!

***

...and *elsie*, thank you again, for yet another simple, inspirational, totally do-able project that i will be referring to for the whole next year to come.

thank you thank you thank you.

i adore the blog-o-sphere.

*new*

one word post title. new.
i chose it
for a number of reasons,
most below.
some not below.
read on,
then i'd love love love -really & trules- to hear
what's been/what's going to be
new with you.

*
first,
as said in my last post,
i got a new haircut.
it looks nothing like the hair above, as i was too chicken shit
to go for the bangs, but it is a trimmed version of the way-too-long long-ass layers i was shaggily rockin' for a minute and a half.
**
Ryan, the h'cutter,
did give me some new face-framin' pieces.
[as i type now, the pieces are in my peripheral, and i kinda like it]
*

i also am on the hunt for new knee socks.
the cute kind that i see peeking out from under a tall boot
like here and here and here.

*
i've also been ready for a new cell, and i believe
the lucky winner of that honor is the iPhone 4.
*
howevs,
i want it in white.
*
the boyf & i
are about ready to cave, though.
fuck it. once we go black, we'll never go back
...to another phone???
iPhone4...R U the 1?

after getting my hair cut on friday,
i discovered what i had suspected all last week:::
that
would be
my
new
favorite
place for
tasty treats of
love
and
joy
and
unfathomable deliciousness:
the most worth it half-hour drive anyone could make
*
the selection was overwhelming:
*
i ended up going with a *taste*pack*
and a *caramel*apple* cupcake:
*
i wanted to wait 'til i got home to eat it with some
hot,
organic,
green,
blueberry tea,
but i
couldn't wait
& nibbled in the car::
[notice the new haircut?? no?? yeah, it's way subtle, i guess]
*
i bought a notebook with my new favorite piece of advice,
and
looking at this photo makes me remember
that i need to get a new favorite tea mug.
*
this guy,
blogged about here,
fell on the floor
& broke his handle.
*
awww...adios, smiley-face tea mug!

this weekend,
i saw a brand new view of the
New York City
skyline:
one from the top
autumn & us on top of bear mountain
*
tip tippy top,
fall foliage freeze frame,
breathe in, breathe out
*
oh goodness:
northface // ugg boots
\\
//
\\
//
\\
//
*fall uniform*
*
[i miss my flip flops]
*
the boyf
zoomed
himself & i
through the winding, twisting
roads of upstate new york
on Saturday afternoon:
we even caught my
nana's favorite animal:
...and what excited me was that none of these deer
had antlers, which means they were girls.
i kept saying to Tomas:
"they were having a girl party,
they were having a girl party."
i thought it
was cute, i guess,
because obviously
females of every species need
a break from the men.
;)

speaking of that last thought,
my favorite new show has been
on HBO.
it grips me every Sunday night.
i think it's really a lot of fun,
and
refreshing,
and i would say "tune in"
but you've
had to have watched the previous weeks
to love it too.
*
anyway,
on last night's episode,
Mrs. Schroeder said this to Van Alden:
"I've been lectured a great deal...by men who speak boldly, but do nothing."
my new favorite quote.

*
also worth mentioning
[although you might think me monotonous
and lame, but i don't care]
is my love for
the ((relatively)) new babies::
they are getting so big,
and they're only 6 months old this week.
*
they're also growing in snuggliness
and are incredibly hilarious.
*
case in point,
this snapshot of them
holding each other
while taking their
afternoon nap:
how could i resist??

this one's a little guilty.
hee hee.
i need to make a new deposit into my
bank account so i can use my
debit card to make an online purchase of these
Boutique 9 Boots and add a new pair
to my fall-shoes-repertoire:
i wanted them in black,
like i saw Maegan have 'em in,
but the place i found them in my size,
only's got grey.
*
i'll deal.
*
i'm pretty sure i HAFF to have 'em.

two of my favorites have been:
and

yep. on loop.

*
'nother "new"??
in my opinion,
the freshest new
color combo for *FaLL*2010*::
raspberry

& grey

[if you scroll back up to the Bear Mountain pics,
you'll see peeking out from under my Northface
is my raspberry/grey striped sweater
that i wear whenever i can]

what else is "new"?
the
new bedroom
i've been conjuring up
with my
interior-decorating-expert
of a bitt, my sister.
we eyed this Vera Wang comforter from Kohls
[and when i have her to find the link for me, i'll link it]
gorgios.

on the aqua mattress,
with my face pointed up

everyone gave him a piece of advice about college.

mine was:

*Starbs* LoVE

remember a while back
when *Starbs*
did the whole
"The Way I See It"
on their cups??
[see below]
well,
"The Way I See It"
that I saw was
The Way I See It #76.
*
*
*
it said this:
*
"The irony of commitment is that it's deeply liberating -- in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life."
*
-- Anne Morris
Starbucks customer from New York City. She describes herself as an "organization builder, restless American citizen, optimist."
i commented on the post

*
i read a post and commented on it with this quote.

it was the first response i thought of.

i saved it to my Blackberry over a year ago, expecting to recall it/use it again one day.

maybe this day was that day.

hope it helped.

cool.

*weekend log*

[and i don't mean the kind you leave in the toilet on sunday morning]
***
***
*
***
***
uh!
so...topic:
~what made up my weekend~
*
Yes,
there was some
involved,
as hoped for
in my last post.
*
that was a major plus from my weekend.
*
there was,
however,
a whole
lot of
lowlights from the weekend as well!
Ugh!
Were there ever!
a ton of chores,
my dad's pathetic & childish behavior,
my just-about-ready-to-break down car,
tears, tears, and more tears
after being berated by my
overworked-overstressed-overheated
mother,
and
some drama on our bike ride
involving a raving lunatic woman
blowing her coast guard whistle in
the boyf's ear
[won't go into it]
*
FUCK ALL THOSE THINGS!
*
here are
some pictures
of the highlights:
[tee hee hee!] a bunch of lovin' from *the babies*
[oh, & my make-up done by *bitt*]
above,
i'm smoochin' Alejandro on top of the box,
and
a little jealous Carmen Sandiego is lookin' at the smooch
*
above,
Carmen & me
[try to notice the sweet honey,
and not the overtaking shnoz]
*
below,
[look away from the sideburns!]
*
the babies were taking
Saturday afternoon
naps:
above,
Carmen Sandiego,
sleeping like she tends to sleep,
in her brother's bed.
*
below,
Alejandro
in his sister's bed.
*
***
*
oh,
another
highlight from
my weekend:
*yay*
after two years of
being on WeightWatchers
for, like, the
gazillionth
time,
it's clicked.
*
~i'm a Lifetime Member of WeightWatchers~
[no more paying to get weighed = more money for clothes]
[woo hoo!]
*
got my
little
*golden key charm*
and all.
*
in truth,
i only needed
to lose
between 12 & 15 pounds,
but it's taken me
two friggin' years to do it.
*
i credit it to my adopted
hobbies of biking & running
and
also
getting smarter everyday
about food & portions & why and when I eat.
*
i recommend WW to anybody.
*
***
*
another [kind of] highlight:
the new clothesline my mother installed
in the backyard
in her words:
"we need to start budgetin', gurls.
if we can save a few hundred dolluhs
two munths of thuh yea-uh,
we should dew it."
[my attempt at conveying her 'New Yawk' accent]
*
i consider it a highlight because i love
the old-school, back in the day,
1960s Summer concrete
backyard feel to it,
even if it does take
3x longer than throwin' the cothes
in the dryer.
Whatev.
*
***
*
another
total highlight
from the weekend:
the super Shish-Kebobs we grilled
oh, yeah.
chopped veggies...
...and fruit!
secret *added* ingredient?
puh
puh
puh
peaches!
kebabbed with beef
*
oh, dear.
looked
so sexy
on the
grill!
they did, they did.
*
***
*
finally,
the highlight that took place
sunday night
was
our bike ride
into Manhattan.
{{deep sigh; smile}}
*
we pulled up to Astoria Park
and
parked right under the Triborough bridge:
*
below,
Tomas & Damian
[you know them in more detail from this post]
unloadin' my bike from the
back o' Damian's truck:
*
view from our potty stop:
*
while on the bridge:
"Bronx, Keep Left.
Manhattan, Keep Right."
[we'll be keepin' RIGHT]
*
the boyf.
breakin'.
*
yes.
motto for biking.
motto for life.
*

this shot, above, is pretty much us chillaxin' at the half way point, three hours in.

yeah. the ride took us about 5 hours.

started @ 4 pm; ended around 9-ish.

the pic above was taken @ 7:01pm.

;)
