we travelled to a little

dress boutique in

her convertible-topped VW,

blastin' music:

at the boutique,

we were

completely, non-seriously, half-heartedly

browsing for

*bridesmaid dresses*
when we

stumbled upon a few

fun ones:

she is a shiny, pink, disco ball to me
i'm a more bright-hued, ruffle-maniac

[we were both too lazy to actually try on so
over-the-head hanger slip worked fine]

so,
elisa
was telling
me that she
wants
light light soft pink
for the bridesmaids'
dresses
[P.S. - she's having NINE! bridesmaids,
and about 5 junior bridesmaids...yeah...big fat Italian wedding]

for her
and

LGRaB Summer Games - 5th entry - explore *a new part of town* by bike

so last night,

the boyf & i explored

a new part of town

by bike,

and we rode up on

the Velodrome

since:

i knew i wanted

to try out the challenge of

exploring a new part of town,

but thought,

"hey, i know every part o' town there is!

how will i ever explore something new??"

[my naivety strikes again]

the boyf and i took a late-afternoon-into-twilight ride

from

Alley Pond Trail in Bellerose

to

Kissena Park in Flushing,

and

--as usual with our rides--

i was following him along streets,

into the park,

back out again,

up hills,

downhills...

...

then

he turns into a parking lot.

i was like, what the??

i realized that

we were near a few softball fields that

the boyf used to play on.

when i used to watch his games

[well, half-watch them]

i remember peeking over

in bewilderment

at the velodrome.

the LGRaB Summer Games:

i successfully completed Part I of them by
saying 'hi' to a cyclist

Part II proved more challenging being that I subbed
5 days a week in June &
had a 4-night a week June class whose workload murdered me
[i don't know how i managed an A+]

i pulled through *last minute* by
purchasing and reading a book about cycling

however...
...i missed the end of Part II deadline
for the Part II prizes,
&
posted a completed second challenge of
test riding a different type of bike than you normally ride
[via this post]
for Part II *late*

problem:
i was unsatisfied with the content of this post since
the bike i test-rode was not an actual bike,
but
a totally awesome & uber-enjoyable moped.
[did i lose anyone yet?]

sooooooooo...
to make up for that unsatisfying second entry
for Part II of the LGRaB Summer Games,
I have posted HERE
a second second entry that in fact DOES
qualify as fair-game content for the Games.

only to wake up three-hours later,

& head off to our friends' BBQ.

so, I'm taking college classes this SuMMeR.

i'm singin' a new tune with this July class, entitled,

Using *ART* with Students with Special Needs

i really have to say, I love this class.

our first project was to create a

self-portrait of ourselves using pipe-cleaners,

and then

set our 'mini-us' to a background.

our pipe-cleaner version

had to show us doing something

we enjoyed.

***

i tried *unsuccessfully* to make a

pipe-cleaner bicycle,

so instead,

i made myself, the runner:

oh, and did you notice the *pipe-cleaner* babies?

Haa haa!

i added my pink Blackberry & earphones later

***

...and then made my shoe-box background.

the background is supposed to be the *trail* i run on.
