*crappy*pics* of Krist

hi, honeys!
***
snowed-in for the second day in a row
here in Queens, NY.
check here.
look here.
treacherous.
***
what i've been productively doin' though,
is workin' on my *new blog* for 2011
and beyond!
MAN, it's work!
***
but,
anyway...
...with all the *new blog* work I'm doing,
i had no time to edit the few pics from Christmas I took,
but know it was a lazy lazy day,
it was family-filled,
food-filled,
and...well...take a peek:
haa haa!
this year's tree was so bare-branched on the bottom!
***
the babies' gifts
were
new EdHardy-like shirts,
...and collars
[which Carmen doesn't seem to have on here]
***
***
...and a spin-around go-chase-it-go mouse toy:

the babies were my mega-gift,
given to me earlier this year, in June,
by the universe almighty.
***
*heart* my binos *heart*
*heart*heart*heart*heart*heart*heart*
***
**
*
**
***
this was the only pic from my
Aunt & Uncle's house I took:

just laziness/laziness/laziness.
***
ate and lounged and ate and gamed-it and lounged.
i felt drunk,
but hadn't drank anything.
hmmm...
***
**
*
**
***
...and some gifts:
new *white watch*
***
new *white subtle-sequins scarf*
***
oh yeah...

...and I got my Nikon D3100.

WAH HAAA!

***

happy Tues, lover duckies!

*merry*happy*jolly*lovely*

from me to you, love.
***
***
below was one of my favie childhood cartoons to watch during Christmas week.
so, since you're here now, at this stole-away moment on this special day,
take a quick viewing, to keep your spirit bright:
I hope you've received all you wanted today,
in addition to peace and love and laughter.
***
now go, soak up more of your family, and I'll (hopefully) see you tomorrow.

*hilarious* (maybe not for anyone but my sis & i) christmas-tree getting story

i know i've already posted about our decorated tree,
but i never yet posted about the getting of that tree.
*
it happened last weekend.
i happened at HomeDepot.
it was quite funny.
*
Helene [my mom] was a one-woman show!
trippin' over string,
knocking down trees,
bossin' the HomeDepot workers around,
just bein' Helene.
All in her high-heeled boots, and
animal print purse swinging around!
notice Bitt, on the left, just enjoying a ticket to the Helene-show.
*
after we bought it,
we got outside and realized nobody was there to help us put it on the car.
this random man, whose wife must've been pissed,
volunteered to help us.
*
he got two strings of rope, he'd toss it over the hood to me, and I'd pass
it back to him through the car.
Helene & Bitt just watched.
When the man was done, we said our 'thank yous'
got back in the car, and
my mom said,
"SEE! There are men out there who know that we women don't know how to do this SH*T!"
***
Bitt & I started laughing.
...and then in true Helene-fashion,
finished up with,
"I watched him do it, though.
It's not hard.
Now I know for next time."
***
she cracks me up.
i guess you had to be there.
it was ridiculous from the start.
*
before we even *GOT* to HomeDeep,
we saw this guy:

yep. a senior citizen in his motorized chair that...what...reaches, like, top speed of 10 mph?...about to cross that busy intersection.

from our car seat, all three of us were like, "What's he doin'? What's that guy doin'?"

then, Helene [with her input again] goes,

"Maybe he thinks he's being patriotic."

***

oh goodness. happSAT.

warm tones, LIGHTED TREE, angel ornaments, camera dreams

please press PLAY...and wait for it...
* * *
ahhhhhhhhh. now ease
down into your seat and
scroll on
yesterday evening.
*
**
*
multi-colored bulbs
strung around a HomeDepot tree
in some sort of order.
made to work in between bursts
of *sister*laughter* and *kitty*craziness*
pink...
rich magenta pink:
a major theme of this year's tree
up close with a christmas ball.
*
this camera -- the camera i used for almost every personal pic
you've seen on this blog this year...
...it's got me dreamin'
one i hope will be this year's Christmas present from Santa,
my first SLR
which would have made these next few pics
a lot better I imagine
***
*
my sister, mom, and I
are a tad bit in love with
these curly silver twist ornaments
scattered about our tree
***
*
[my favorite pic of the bunch]
this little angle ornament seems like he's flying enthusiastically around Christmas land
***
*
above, a modern angel ornament, bought in recent years
and
below, a vintage angel ornament, around during my mom's childhood
[both adorning the same tree]
***
*
decorating *the*tree* is always one
of my favorite events of winter,
and this year
it seemed therapeutic
on this Monday morning,
the start of what i feel is going to be the week from Hell due
when sham-college duties rush in causing stress and worry,
and fear at the forefront of my mind,
i will imagine Christmas bubbles of warmth and serenity
and hope it'll help me through.
*
...and if not, then

i can always do like *the*binos*, and sleep in the light of the tree.

wishing you a calm and peaceful and quick December Mond

*orange* & *pinks* & *yellow*

love my November.
i think November & i think my birthday.
i think November & i think sweaters, like, layers of sweaters.
i think November & i think thanksgiving,
special warm toasty feelings with family & people i love.
***
this year, i'm not so sure about "thanks"-"giving" for me.
it feels more like
"thesis"-"taking"
***
don't get me wrong,
i am extremely thankful
for my blessings, but
i wish i could experience the holiday
as it's meant to:
to relax,
to reflect,
to eat, laugh, & be merry
with family
& think on the past months of the year
and the few weeks left of the year,
and realize with all your soul, that you're blessed.
***
instead,
i'm probably working at the restaurant
from 11am to 9pm,
and
will be surrounded by stress & worry as to
the status of my thesis paper,
due within a few days after Thanksgiving.
***
college sucks the life out of me.
it sucks the life out of everyone i know who goes to one.
however,
ironically,
i'm thankful i've had the means to go to school,
unlike so many in the world,
i just wish it was actually beneficial to my being,
instead of just 'looking good on paper.'
***
***
anyway...
...November,
i think i like you.
i mean, i do, i like you.
this Nov, though, i
kinda wish i could just "UP" myself out of responsibilities
by hanging on to a bunch of *orange*pink*yellow* balloons,
sail through the sky,
and end up at a Thanksgiving tea party with
all those close to my heart, living and passed on.

up...up...and away, Novem.

we wish you a happy holiday,
my favorite one at that.

my brain no-worky.

i hate when that happens.
*
*
*
to counteract the intense hatred i feel for
my checked-out brain when homework is to be done,
i will post about something
i intensely love & adore:
sesame seeds on my pizza crust.
*
i went with my dad the other day for lunch
[and i never do anything with him]
*
the sesame seeds were abundant and plentiful.
*
they were on the crust of my peppers & onion slice.
*
Joey's in Maspeth, Queens
does it oh so right.
[i like the figurines in the upstairs window]
*

yum.

enjoy your Thurs., cosmonauts

*south*fla* recap - Part 1

i left for my
last-hurrah
of summer vacay to
*south*fla*
three weeks ago.
*
sorry for the delay,
but here were some snaps
from the trip:
JFK airport had this great artwork in the bag-check area.
***
**
*
our 11:00 departure
was *on time*
***
**
*
the cute [overpriced] cookies in the airport
***
**
*
my feets.
the rug looked like speeding planes in the night sky, right?
***
**
*
after a not-so-relaxin' turbulence-filled flight,
sippin' on the G. Ale...
...we arrived.
these were the first palm trees i spotted.
***
i stared,
and
smiled,
and
appreciated:
see the palms in my sunglasses?
see my weird Kyra Segdwick lips?
WT...?
***
also...you notice the *airport*fashion* talked about in this post.
tee hee!
***
**
*
met up with *the*Grams*
while some people who read this might think
"LAME! Hangin' with your Grandmother? On VACATION??!!"
they would be totally wrong.
my Grams rocks.
plus, Tomas & I hung with my little cousin Claudia, seen here and here,
and my cousin Ryan who just recently came back
from Afghanistan and was discharged after several years
serving in the marines.
Nuts!
I was so happy to be with family.
***
**
*
here,
we walkin' to the pool area:

[Claude, the*boyf*, Ryan]
***

*

what's he got in that cup??
[hey, it's vacation...whadaya think??]
***
**
*
POOL TIME:
above you might spot:
Grams & her yellow noodle,
scuba-Claude,
my cute navy&white polka-dot bikini,
my great*aunt Tina in her diva hat & sunglasses and classic 'Stan Laurel face'
&
Tomas in a state of bliss.
***
**
*
us three girls went to a rock&roll show:
me & claudia:
she was excited to wear my skirt.
***
**
*
this was my face in reaction to the boys not attending the show:

they didn't attend because of this:
[this was a mobile phone pic sent to me by Tomas]
Tomas couldn't get in because he was wearing shorts, not pants.
Grams insisted that he go back
to her condo and wear a pair
of her stretch pants underneath his shorts.
***
my cousin Ryan refused to let him
go out in public like this.
he said Tomas looked like a Samoan Peter Pan.
***
**
*
the boys didn't show,
and
us girls watched The Shindigs rock out by ourselves:
***
**
*
after the show,
came window shopping.
***
**
*
my cousin,
Claudia,
who's only 14 and already taller than my 5'8" frame,
should model, I think.
she's got that natural skinniness most models starve themselves to achieve,
and
can act as a perfect moving clothes-hanger.
***
case in point:
***
***
these crack me up.
she is such a sweet, kind-hearted person.
i'd like to think she got some of that from me.
:)
***
**
*
back at the condo at wee hours of the night,
Grams was arguing with the boys about why
she couldn't see stars at night:
light pollution?
cloudiness?
who knows!!
***
**
*
another
can't-be-overlooked
aspect
of the
*south*fla*
trip was the
yumminess:
***
yes, the yumminess.
***
Grams/Granddaughter & red wine & ravioli.

***

**

*

i had me some happy memories on my trip. Thanks for viewing!

Part 2 [Date Night] will be coming tomorrow, so stay tune, loves.

***

have a wonderful wonderful Wednesday.
