*cat*heaven*

[alejandro with the book]
*
the story behind it goes as follows:
i stumbled upon this book in the picture book section
of a public library i was visiting last year,
and
always had it in my mind because of how old
my cat, Dinah, was.
I sat on the floor, legs crossed,
turning the pages,
tearing, imagining reading this at a time when
i knew i'd no longer be able to squeeze her,
hold her,
hug her,
smooch her,
and it made me really sad.
*
that was about a year ago.
*
...and this is now.
now she is gone.
it happened one week ago, today,
and
thinking of it
still makes me sad as ever.
*
i miss her so much.
*
i bought this book this week, and
i open it when i need to let go of some of the pent-up emotions.
***
here's
some pages from it:
***
***
***
this page gets me every time:
{{tear, tear}}
***
to imagine her like this,
sitting on a cloud...
***

i recommend it to anyone who's lost the cat-love of their life.

it's a good gift along with a sympathy card to anyone you know who's lost the cat-love of their life.

there's also a Dog Heaven book, but i never read that one.

a pink & white *invite*

something that has made me
so far:
*
a pink & white *invite*
that i got this
week from my
beautiful *bride-to-be* friend,
pretty much,
it invited her bridesmaids
to a luncheon
on October 2nd
[her birthday...how cute!!]
to mingle and munch
while trying on the dress(es)
she picked for us
the cutest part is
it's written in a poem
[...and ya'll know how that stops my heart still]
[can't expect anything less fabulous from Elisa]
Alejandro, above,
so into the *invite*
[isn't he getting SO big??!!]
remember when he was just a little guy??
we thought he was going to be a runt.
Haa Haa!!
Not anymore!
**
**
so...
...back to my pink & white *invite*...
...i'm so excited for the luncheon,
and
of course immediately
started thinking of
what i am going to wear to it...
...hmmmmmm...
i
thought
something
fall-ish/autumn-ey
so
perhaps
something
with a three-quarter sleeve...
...but
i still
wanted it
to be
a happy
color or pattern...
...
...
...
...and then
i came across
this dress:
...and thought that would be peeeerrrfect
for an early-October luncheon with the girls!
*
[to see it in runway action, click here.]
*
it's gauzy,
it's girly,
it's fall-fashion, while still capturing something special about summer...the flowers?? idk.
*
oh!
i love.
*
i'm going to prob
pair it with
black stockings
[maybe grey plaid??]
and
black flats.
*
needless to say,
i bought it.
*
i figure even if i don't wear it
on October 2,
i could wear it all year long
to sub.
major plus!
*
another plus:
it's easy to slip on and off in the dressing room
whilst trying on zee dress!
**
**
...and speaking of *zee*dress*...
...i wonder what it's going to look like!
*
remember
this post?...uh...maybe you don't.
check it out.
it explains Elisa & I's
half-assed first attempt at bridesmaid-dress shopping.
it also first talks about
the color Elisa was scouting
for her bridesmaid dresses:
light light pink.
*
wonder if any
of these
are *zee*one*:::
nah.
not this one.
it's too short.
Elisa didn't want short.
right color, though.
**
**
hmmm...maybe like this.
she wanted flowy & soft.
**
**

now this is what I'm saying! it's all about the drama, baby!

i'd be bringin' sexi back, yeah!

**

can't wait!

heyyyyyy...

...maybe the dress is like those on the invite.

DUH!

pink top? white skirt?

we'll see, I guess.

Happy Wedn.

*new*true*blue*PLANNER*in*progress*

PLEASE PLAY THIS SONG WHILE READING TODAY'S POST.
**
**
WARNING:
this post exposes the *craft* geek in me
*
i got a new blue planner:
Blue? Who knew?
*
I find
the *Mom's Plan It* engagement planners
to be the best
planners to customize because they are
a good quality spiral notebook
that
-despite being tossed around and pulled in and out of various bookbags-
still holds strong.
i started with one patch,
above,
&
soon added more
to have the
front-cover
collage,
below:
**
**
back cover:
one
*WOOHOO!*
patch,
above,
&
add
a few more
images:
**
**
you see,
the
*Mom's Plan-It*
also has a good layout:
in the pic above,
the top blue planner is my new
2010-2011 one,
and the light green below is
my old one: the 2009 -2010 one.
**
where it says
"Grocery List"
i
just
*white*out*
and
use it as
a
column
to
put
"what I loved, learned, or am thankful for"
for that week.
**
**
i much rather prefer my old planner's
coloring, but
when things change, you adapt.
out with the old, in with the new.
**
**
in honor of my
*new*blue*planner*
i made
a blue page for the first week
of it
[it started in August]:
*
things blue
like sky,
like quotation marks when you write 'em with blue pen,
like denim vests,
like limitless, open-ended potential
*
*
**
...and speaking of denim vests:

i wore mine the other day. it's really been a denim vest type of SuMMeR.

[pic above shows *big*boy* Alejandro giving his mommy some love. true blue baby love.]

a *quote* for this SuMMeR SuNDaY:

"Hey!
How come I get the Quasimodo corn??!!"
---as said by *the boyf*
**
**
**
who
knew
*the boyf*
had a bit
of
poetry
in 'im?
**
**
**
okay, loves,
Happy Sun. Today.

i wanna wear a flirty, floaty, floral dress like it's nobody's freakin' business.

i wanna wear a flirty, floaty, floral dress like it's nobody's freakin' business, then
fancy family and friends and my flowery frock
fixin' a bowl of fruit salad.

i want to attend a fiesta...

*blue pajamas*

*
i wish i had me some blue pajamas,
some 'i-got-nothing-to-do' pajamas
some 'i-don't-have-to-go-to-school' pajamas.
*
some muscle restin',
free-time testin',
'trapped-in-the-bed-all-day' pajamas
and 'blog-my-life-away' pajamas.

by me

My cat is a black and white ball of meows and head-butts and fish breath and kitty litter clay claws all up on my comforter;
You might think this unappealing, but I can’t get enough of her.

Happy Last Tuesday of April.

*pet peeves*

pet peeves
by me
*
too slow drivers
blocking the lane,
when pieces of lettuce
clog the drain,
*
interruptions when
I’m writing a poem,
when people wave ‘hi’
and I don’t even know’em,
*
when I’m a day late
for the big blowout sale,
when all that I get
is bills in the mail,
*
when my socks are all
saggy down by the toes,
when I can’t pick the booger
out of my nose,
*
when I wash my face daily
but the zits keep on coming,
when I’m trying to sleep
but there’s an incessant humming,
*
when the photographer snaps me
at the most unflattering angle,
when I condition my hair
but it’s still a frizz tangle,
*
when there’s plenty of Cheerios
but not enough milk,
when I invest time in a lover
who turns out a bilk,
*
when I get a wedgie
of gigantic proportions,
when I look in the mirror
and see a million distortions,
*
when I feel young at heart
but am too old in age,
when I have a bunch more to say
but run out of page.

*color* poetry w/ *Miss Zampelli*

i read the kids
this book:
we filled out
this chart in
the meeting area:
i was showing them
how to think about a color
using their 5 senses.
*
***
*
these are some finished poems:
haa haa!!
ya gotta love
Winnie.
** *** **
i love how she spelled lettuce: letis.
love it.
** *** **
i love that *pink* sounds like her mom
spraying perfume on her hair on Sunday.
oh, Ting Yu,
you're too cute.
[what color sounds like your mom?]

Hey!
I never thought before
of what
Dr. Seuss actually looked like.
**
**
**
**
well,
ya'll,
he
looks
like
this:

i thought he'd look weirder for some reason.

Friday's here. Enjoy.

*rain R rain A rain I rain N rain*

Come again...
...WHEN IT ISN'T SPRING BREAK!!
so...with this rain all day yesterday & all day today,
the news has said that this is the 3rd wettest March
in NY's recorded history.
Hmmm...that's nice.
It might even become the 2nd wettest March
in NY's recorded history by the end of today.
Greeaaat. Just terrific.
It is pretty torrential out there...
"...with no signs of letting up," said the weatherguy.
i'm complaining because the grey-ness
is almost sickening, but
in truth, it's a good thing.
it's the necessary thing.
i need to stay in & do some homework,
& if it was gorgey gorge gorgeous out,
you best be believin'
i'd be riding my bike!!
so, okay rain.
fall fall fall.
fall
all
you
like,
so
I won't
be tempted
to
ride
my
bike.

so, for the most part,
i'll be in today.
** ** ** ** ** ** ** **
this cute
video below reminds me
of my boyf, the die-hard baseball player,
manager of our co-ed team,
who loves to play & loves to practice,
no matter what the condition:

...so Mr. Rain, it's cool if you're visiting the NYC area today.
I've heard your stay is only temporary.
You're just passin' through, makin' sure the
buddin' flowahs got'nough drank.
Okay.
No beef.
I'm allowing you to pass,
as long you
don't come back
for a while
& give my Spring Break
some breathin' room.
Easter Sunday's supposed to be niiiiiiiccccceeee.
I'm sooo looking forward to it.
I'm
wanting back
the color in my world.
I'm craving
some spring dresses, some
blue skies, &
some sun on my face.

yeah...a little *exactly* like this.

*********************************************

...or maybe in dis.

maybe going to an early Spring weddin' in dis or dis.

maybe sexin' it up in dis with dis hair.

ohhhhh shit...thanks imagination.
