{{deep sigh}}
i wish it was going to be a bang-zang-a-rang kind of New Year's Eve that I picture in my head, but frankly, this year, it won't be.
the mounds of un-plowed snow contributes;
the place I'm at contributes;
the lack of enthusiasm from friends contributes ["...Let's stay home...it gets crazy out there on NY'sEve..."] ... bunch 'o ninnies!
however...#26: Let. Myself. Be. At. Where. I'm. At.
I've been trying.
plus, my *bitt* is the cutest EVER! ...and got me this for Christmas [in black sequins] which -- if I'm not having that awesome, goin' out NewYear'sEve -- I can still jazz up with a cardigan or blazer...make it happen. ;)
***
what NewYear'sEVE outfits are ya'll plannin' on rockin'?? ...and what're your plans!?!?!
Patrick Swayze (1952-2009) **************** Bitt & I have spoke of your name on a daily basis since as far back as we can remember, and were hoping to meet you in person one day. We are two of your biggest fans and will continue to consistently quote your brilliance.
R.I.P., Swayze-a-Roo! Thanks for all the hard work that lives in our hearts & minds! ***
i have pretty much felt & still feel like that, above]
I
am one
big ball
of frustration, coupled with indifference.
It's like
I have
a raging locomotive
inside of me,
but
I'm standing perfectly still.
*
there's no other way i could describe it really.
*
this post is going to be
the randoms of my brain right now
'cause it needs to be.
*
sorry if this bores you,
or gives you a seizure. *
let's start with the last thing first
and go in reverse.
rewind:::
**
**
**
**
okay,
so thinking a relaxing
viewing of last night's
VMAs
would help
my
uber-neurotic brain as of late
was
a
COMPLETE MISTAKE.
**
I felt
even more
mentally exhausted after watching,
but can't really pinpoint why.
**
oh wait.
**
oh yeah:
a fuckin' meat dress?? ...and a meat hat?? i mean, i kind of get it, i guess. ** VMAs, right? Veal Meat Accessaries? makes sense. i mean, as much sense as she's gonna make. i'm not sure if i'm glad she won. i mean, i do like me some rah rah rah mah mah, roma rum mah mah, gaga ooo laa laa sounds in mah ear and mah body while dancing.
**
Chelsea Handler was disappointing. * Taylor Swift bugged me. * Kanye, in that red outfit, with that douchebag song... ...i have no words. * what I thoroughly did enjoy, however, and was by far my favorite part::
was Florence + the Machine's performance of 'Dog Days are Over' * i friggin' love this song:
the performance of this had me wigglin'
on the couch next to Tomas as we were watching it.
i even sang along.
so, thank you, Florence, for
singing your reassuring song [...what felt like...] just for me.
**
i also liked the mickey-mouse bobble head DJ guy.
he was awesome.
**
**
alright,
i think that's enough
of the VMAs
[Viewing of Major Attention-whores]
moving on the the next piece of my convoluted brain-puzzle:
but about two years ago, I got sick after a sushi dinner and barfed.
when you throw up about a pound of sushi,
you're body doesn't want it for a while, even if yo' brain does.
{{deep sigh}}
oh, well.
maybe some other day,
beloved california roll,
maybe some other day.

{{quiet whimpering}} ** ** ** ** the dress i talked about here and ordered came Saturday. here it is hanging in my "view-what's-new" spot in my room to rev up my enthusiasm. definitely gonna wear it wit' black tights and black flats. ** i really really tell you, thoughts of outfits are really the only thing that's keeping me sane lately. ** maybe it's this thesis class. ** maybe it's the late nights at this lousy restaurant job. ** maybe it's my frustration that i'm going to be subbing another year when i should be with my own class already in my own classroom. ** my mood is so fucked today. ** i think i gotta nap right now. i have work later at the goddamn restaurant, and work with no nap makes Amanda a tired, binge-eating, unfocused, cracked-out piranha. YOU WANT THAT SERVIN' YOU DRINKS DURING CRAZY MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL?? ** ** ** change of topic: Maegan from ...love Maegan posted this link to an outfit post she wrote last week, and let me tell you, this song speaks volumes of truth. good job, christina agui, for making one listenable-song on your new bionic album. it's going to take a lot to undo the damage you did after i heard the woohoo song. ** pretty much, though, i love this song. describes how i felt this week exactly. i love when that happens. ** i think i want to be done now. ** a few more sporadic randoms that are *ping*pinging* around my cerebral cortex:: * What am I going to be for Halloween?? maybe Lady Gaga in a meat dress. no, but seriously... ...i wanna win $300 at the costume party i'm going to. i also need a workable costume to wear at the restaurant. yes, the manager said "mandatory costumes". jerk. * * * * also, i have SOOOOOO many *south*fla* pics. I wanted to create a slideshow, but don't know how, so... ...I think I'm going to post them in pieces. we'll see later this week. * * * * lastly, *2010* is going to be over before we know it. * notice my blog's title? * i'm in the workings of developing a *new*blog* * how did ya'll decide on your blog's title? did you find that once you picked one that sounded good, you hated it, like, 15 minutes later? haa haa! * what blogging program do you all use? * i think i'll talk more about this in a future post. ** ** time for me to like, legit, bolt from this 'puter. i leave with this ending image:
cute hair. cute sunny-g's. wish i had a louis. love the outfit, and the kinda zen surroundings, and homegirl's got my iphone.
[i also heard this song by the great Cyndi yesterday,
and woke up with it in my head]
*
*
it's worth a listen:
all through the night I'll be awake and I'll be with you all through the night this precious time when time is new, oh all through the night today knowing we feel the same without saying
we have no past we won't reach back keep with me forward all through the night and once we start the meter clicks and it goes running all through the night until it ends there is no end
all through the night stray cat is crying so stray cat sings back all through the night they have forgotten what by day they lack oh under those white street lamps there is a chance they may see
we have no past we won't reach back keep with me forward all through the night and once we start the meter clicks and it goes running all through the night until it ends there is no end
oh the sleep in your eyes is enough let me be there let me stay there a while
we have no past we won't reach back keep with me forward all through the night and once we start the meter clicks and it goes running all through the night until it ends there is no end keep with me forward all through the night and once we start the meter clicks and it goes running all through the night until it ends there is no end ***

i miss the boyf. we've been dying to watch Shutter Island on Netflix for weeks. when will this happen??!!??!!
i miss bike riding. ...with the boyf and in general.
i miss SuMMeR, but i missed money for a long time, and now that's back.
...but to get it, i'll been workin' All Through The Night
OMG, yes. He was/is definitely one of my favorite all-time Yankees.
For sure.
I offered him and Tino Martinez
skirt steak with chimichurri sauce on garlic toast.
It was awesome.

*
*
Salt&Pepa homegirls *supposedly* kicked
Tino Martinez & Bernie Willams off the table they were at
in the back V.I.P section.
How hilarious!
my *string bean* of a general manager was about to kick them both out!
*
all i know is this song kept replaying in my head. *

Ali & Roberto
i really couldn't have cared less.

what you do
you make me wanna *shoop*

finally,
when all the buzz
started getting me dizzy,
and
i was ready to get on outta the
circus
that the restaurant was slowly becoming as the night wore on,
he walked in: *

Justin Timberlake with the fedora on and all.

okay...now, I'm not gonna lie and say that it wasn't cool to see all these celebs, but for the handful of celebs i listed here, there were about 200 wannabes circling the joint.
these wannabes were there either because they had money, or they were somebody's kid, or they were somebody's assistant.
i. hate. mother. fucking. assistants.
they weren't like real people. they were like pseudo-people, so uber-ly involved in someone else's world. they think because they work for somebody who actually has talent [except in the bachelorette's case], that that makes them important and they could boss/talk-to-you-like-doody. oh no no no.
...and most of them were chicks in what they would call 'fashion' with the heels they couldn't walk in, and tiny dresses, holding a clipboard, running around like hyper chipmunks.
of all the mindless, pointless, wanting-to-hear-their-own-voice bashing of the show, the movie, all of it, i think the most pointless of all is the one i hear of, 'oh, they're too old. they should stop already.' TOO FUCKIN' OLD??!! That makes it ten times more fun, in my opinion. ************************************************ here's two clips from this girl's favorite episode --and one of mine, too-- that she reminded me was brilliant yesterday with this fabulous post about it:

...just a little reminiscing about what makes
Sex and the City
so great...

...and why my plans for tonight have got my soul singing a tune.
[this really has been the *magic formula* for me since March] anything?? I wouldn't really say anything. Working out makes me feel healthier & happier [true story.] and I guess, in turn, that could make one feel capable of anything. Okay! I'll buy it! okay, Hilary Swank: you're cool. I mean, c'mon! Homegirl's won two Oscars! She's gotta be making some kind of correct life choice. Anywho... if you think this pic is motivational, uhhhhh, check this one. [Yeah. That's Swank, in a shoot she did for Vanity Fair.] Holy crapoli, right?! The girl looks good. ...and I'm sure she feels good too. *** ** * That's all I'm trying to achieve.
Bottom line, though:
Everyone's *magic formula* is different.
Find what works for you, and find the inspiration everyday to stick with it.
...a scatterbrained girl in her mid-twenties writing & posting *HERE*...trying to breathe 2010 in by celebrating & contemplating all it has to offer, one expressive outlet at a time.
Hi, reader.
If you like any of the content found HERE, I would love for you to let me know. Please do not take any of my pictures or my words without giving me due credit, especially since *my planner* and *my poetry* are found HERE and mean so so much to me. I don't think I'm really all that cool to steal from, but for whatever reason you might, please don't.
I always love having you HERE, and please revisit again.
Okay, that's it.
Love love love!
